Here's the short version.
I'm a multimedia journalist with a bachelor's degree in magazine journalism from Ohio University (2003) and a master of arts in teaching Spanish from Kent State University (2005—yes, that Kent State.)

I've been on staff at Cleveland Magazine, the Tampa Bay Times and WUSF public radio. My freelance creds include NPR, the New York Times Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Orbitz, Visit Florida and a bunch more. Remind me to tell you about enrolling in trapeze school. And attending an NFL player's Disney wedding. And flying an airplane.

When I'm not working, I do normal stuff like running, listening to podcasts and volunteering at my kids' preschool.

I live outside of Tampa, Florida, but I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. And yes, I know someone who knows someone who knows LeBron James.
